12 GAUGE COMICS, LLC was officially formed in 2005, but the actual company started with the conception of The Ride in the summer of 2003. After a lot of hard work and gnashing of teeth, The Ride #1 was published through Image Comics in June, 2004. The original members of the group were Keven Gardner and Doug Wagner, who were later joined by Brian Stelfreeze, Jason Pearson, and Cully Hamner.

As President of 12 Gauge Comics, Keven Gardner is the creative spirit behind the hit series The Ride.  Since The Ride’s debut, 12 Gauge has expanded its line to include titles like Body Bags, The O.C.T. and Paul Jenkins’ Sidekick--not to mention work by about everybody you can think of on The Ride itself.  Has Keven let it go to his head?  Why yes---he has.

Doug Wagner got his start writing Ultraforce for Malibu Comics.  After he drove that company out of business, he went into hiding for awhile; now he’s back, as Managing Editor of 12 Gauge Comics, as well as writing some of their most exciting books; Gun Candy and multiple arcs of The Ride. Doug is also a real sweet-smelling dude, so be sure to get a whiff if you happen to cross his path!

Brian Stelfreeze wears many hats.   Seriously, just look at his picture…he always has one of those funny hats on his head.  But I digress.  As Art Director of 12 Gauge Comics, his presence is always felt when thumbing through any of our books.  On top of that (hat-pun) he is one talented dude with a pencil or a paint brush in his hand.  Because he has all that talent, we’ll give him a pass on that headwear thingy.

Cully Hamner is one of a kind.  When he isn't passing the time drawing, he's hard at work as 12 Gauge Comics' Creative Consultant.  The other 23 hours of the day, he drinks sweet tea.  In fact, one extended sugar-rush resulted in these great caricatures of us.  Of course, we left out the ones involving leprechauns, elephants, and Elvis Presley.

When he's not busy with his duties as Director of Development at 12 Gauge Comics, Jason Pearson is one heck of a cartoonist.  He's most well-known for his creator-owned book Body Bags, but equally revered for his kind and sweet demeanor.  If you see him, run up and hug him---he’s the closest thing to a living Care Bear you’ll ever find.

And he giggles.
